Abstract

This issue of Laboratorium took almost a year to prepare, with complex negotiations with the authors to find theoretical perspectives and appropriate language. Reviewers disagreed with each other, and the editors struggled to formulate recommendations and maintain the integrity of the issue. These practical difficulties highlight the multifaceted complexities of studying academic freedom, which are intellectual, empirical, and methodological in nature.
