Abstract

Книга вводит читателя в тематическое и проблемное поле, связанное с круговоротом индийских тканей в стране и за ее пределами. Описывая случай современной Индии, автор ставит вопросы, связанные с товарным перепроизводством текстиля в контексте современной глобальной экономики потребления. Каково социальное значение перепроизводства, которое, будучи поставленным на поток, по сути является конвейером по производству мусора? Какова потенциальная экономическая и символическая ресурсоемкость излишков? Что заставляет современных индусов выбрасывать вещи, и почему утилизация текстиля может оказаться проблематичной? Какие стратегии используют индивиды для творческого освоения избыточного товаропотока?
