Сборник статей «(Не)гражданские общества» посвящен сравнительному ­исследованию процессов демократизации в посткоммунистической Восточной Европе и поставторитарной Латинской Америке. В книге рассматривается прогресс этих регионов в построении устойчивого гражданского общества и изучаются отдельные, ключевые, по мнению авторов, темы: развитие общественных движений и политических партий, состояние средств массовой информации, насилие, «переходная юстиция».
